I’m not a gear-head by any means, but I love learning about engineering. This infographic illustrates perfectly the difference between two types of engines for bikes.
The designer also provided a ton of information comparing pros and cons for each design when it comes to motocross. Apparently, 4-stroke engines are harder to start, which could be a problem during a race. But they also provide more torque and horsepower than 2-stroke engines. I’d be interested to see what professionals are using more often and why.
