Online dating has largely lost its stigma for the under-30 crowd, and it’s rapidly becoming more popular among all other age groups, too. And all of those people looking for love online translates into a lot of money in dating service subscription fees. This infographic shows that it’s turned into a billion dollar industry that’s only going to grow.
The interesting thing is that 40% of the country’s 100 million singles are checking each other out online, and only about a third of them will start a relationship with someone they meet online. Still, it’s cheaper than the matchmaker fees that the richest of the rich are paying to be paired up; that’s in the graphic, too. Have you met anyone you dated online?
