Even before we’re born, our brains are growing rapidly. And by the time you hit puberty, you’ve pretty much peaked. Depressing right? Better make use of those brain cells while you can, because it’s all downhill from here. Eventually, your brain begins to shrink, and you will start to lose brain function at an advanced age.

The big thing I’ve taken away from this is that when it comes to your brain, you use it or lose it. If you’re always learning something new, you use more of your neurons, which can help fight brain aging. It’s especially important for men, who lose more of their brain mass as they age than women. Eating right, exercising, and avoiding stress also help you avoid brain degeneration.
