There’s a huge nursing shortage in this country, and a looming crisis in filling those types of jobs on the horizon. The baby boomer generation is retiring and requiring more medical care. Plus, a huge number of career nurses fall into that boomer age range, and they’re starting to retire.

The interesting thing about this infographic is that the average age of nurses, at least in Arkansas, is 31, and 20% off them are men. Try saying that 20 years ago. I’ll bet less than 5% off them were men. Anybody going into the medical field in the next couple of years is going to be in huge demand. And I’ll bet we see an even bigger percentage of men taking up nursing as a job in the future.
